The sequel film follows the 2022 spinoff Minions: The Rise of Gru. In the next chapter, the former supervillain, his wife Lucy, and their daughters, Margo, Edith, and Agnes, welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr. Gru encounters a nemesis, Maxime Le Mal, and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina, so the family is forced to go on the run.
